Anniversary: Ten Years, Ten Questions

We have a big reason to celebrate: Studydrive has turned 10 years old. Yaaay. One of our OGs will tell you everything you didn't know about Studydrive here, e.g. how Brazil and Berlin-Neukölln fit into the Studydrive story and how many Caipis it took to found the platform.
It all started in Brazil…
Wait what, you don't know the Studydrive story yet? You don't know what happened in Brazil in February 2012?! Then check out our story again:
Studydrive OG Interview
How many Caipis did it take to come up with the idea of founding Studydrive?
Hmm I’d have said 10 per person, but since they were on a bus and buses and alcohol don’t mix well, let’s be diplomatic and say 5 :D
The early days: describe Studydrive as it was years ago.
Honestly it was super chill and fun.
Please estimate: How much beer has been drunk by the staff during the 10 years of Studydrive?
Wow oooookay wait. Let’s do this. The heavy beer phase was definitely in the start-up days. 20 employees, 1 beer a week on average on normal weeks (since we didn’t start with 20 employees obviously). 52 weeks makes 1040 a year. But then there have always been parties that have escalated haha. So let’s say 1500 a year for the first five years. Then we hired a lot of people, but slowed down a little with the drinking. Let’s say 0,5 beers a week for 100 employees. Plus parties, let’s say 3500 yearly. That means 25K in total ahahah.
Over the last 10 years, what gives you goosebumps when you think about it?
It’s sad goosebumps, but when our founders Sven and Philipp announced they were leaving Studydrive, that was definitely a crazy moment for us. Aaaand, this has nothing to do with goosebumps, but should still be mentioned: Studydrive parties are the BEST!!
What are you proud of?
In terms of Studydrive I’m proud of how they handle difficult times (e.g. the pandemic). They support and are faithful to their employees and during those years we saw that that really isn’t a given in every company.
Be real, why are you still working at Studydrive?
Because I was allowed to try out so many different things here in the past and because I can continue to discover what exactly I like and what I want to do here. I feel like I’m given a lot of freedom here, and I highly appreciate that.
If Studydrive were a superhero squad, what superpowers would the OGs have?
I think we’re quite resistant. So we’d be one of those that are invincible heheh.
Additional question: If you had to describe Studydrive in a single word, what would it be today and why?
Epic. Epic people, epic work, epic platform.
