You have a lack of motivation? Here comes your refresher on how to tackle your studies in a more organised, structured and productive way.

How to Keep Working When You're Just Not Feeling It

  1. Sounds dull, but it's needed: a study plan
Or also: How to organise yourself. This is important because - let's face it - you can never fully trust yourself when it comes to procrastination. Keep a to-do list to organise tasks. Prioritise your tasks by urgency and importance. This will help you stay focused and ensure you don't forget important tasks.

  2. Treat yourself to structured notes
Actually, our next tip would be to take notes effectively in lectures and seminars. Structured notes (e.g. as mind maps or bullet points) make it easier to learn and repeat later. But if you're absolutely not the person for that, then treat yourself to the structured notes of others hehe:

  3. Set yourself reminders
Very underrated, but digital reminders can help motivate you and remind you of important things. There are various apps for this, such as ToDoist or Apple's own reminder app. When should you start studying for which exam? Set yourself a reminder! When is the deadline for the term paper? Your reminder will tell you! When do I have to apply for a semester abroad? You will know! #thankuslater

  4. Reflect on your overall goals
For example, someone in the Studydrive groups said that when law school is hard again, he watches series like Suits to keep his goal in mind. What is your goal? What are you doing it for? What is your reason to stay motivated?!

  5. Exchange with other students
Get actively involved in student life, whether through student organisations, clubs or social events. Exchanging ideas with others not only allows for a better understanding of the study material through potential discussions, but also for building supportive networks. Speaking of supportive networks, check out our numerous groups for just that exchange!
