Back to School: Your ultimate guide for a successful start to the semester!

Semester break was awesome, wasn't it? But as life goes, we now unfortunately have to say goodbye to our pajamas and switch back into uni mode. But don't worry - we're here for you! Here are five tips and tricks that will help you kick off the semester with ease. Ready? Let's go!

How to: kick off the semester

1. New semester, new me - set goals!

Let's be honest, we all start the semester with big plans, but how many of them do we actually follow through on? Let's do it differently this time! Grab a notebook (or open an app, we do live in the digital age after all) and write down your semester goals. Whether it's better grades, more time for hobbies, or a cool part-time job - clear goals are the key to success!

2. Check your timetable and to-do lists - get organized for the semester!

You don't want to get lost in chaos, do you?! Okay, so grab a calendar app on your phone and fill in lectures, deadlines and party dates - all in one place, easy!

To-do lists are perfect for keeping track of everything. Chores, shopping, whatever - write it down and check it off. Checking off feels awesome! If you're ever in study mode, set reminders in your app. Don't stress if you mess up the time flow - the alarm will bring you back.

3. Don't be shy - make new contacts!

New semester, new faces, new connections!

Dare to approach other students if you're in the mood. Study life also includes networking after all. Who knows, you might find your future BFF. Don't know how to approach people? Just say "hi" and knock out an icebreaker. Whether it's about the weather or the latest Netflix series, you'll break the ice in no time. Say goodbye to boredom! Check out campus events and clubs. You can expect a lot here - from club meetings to game nights, it's all here.

But hey, don't forget the big picture. Networking is the key to success. Join study groups, show up at conferences and use your social media skills. Who knows what opportunities may come your way.

4. Bye Procrastination - Hi Productivity!

We all know the struggle with procrastination, but this semester we're putting an end to it! No more "just one more episode" or "I'll start later."

You know the Pomodoro technique, right? Set a timer for 25 minutes, study, and then give yourself a 5 minute break. This will push your focus and your productivity will take off. Set clear goals for the day, which brings us back to the first tip. Not too many goals, but definitely ones that should also challenge you. One thing is clear: Instagram, YouTube and Co. are the worst distractions. Throw them out the window if you want to be productive. Tools like website blockers or app timers are your salvation.

Goal achieved? Give yourself props and treat yourself to a reward. A snack, a Netflix episode, whatever. It'll keep you motivated and on the ball.

5. Use resources properly!

This semester, use the Internet and books to take your skills to the next level. The internet is your BFF - YouTube tutorials, online courses, podcasts - it's full of knowledge. Use it to research complex topics and deepen your knowledge. Use study groups on Studydrive and get help from other students who upload their papers:

Also, your professors are not just there to lecture. They are experts in their fields. Dare to ask questions if something is unclear. Also, many universities offer online resources. Check out the university website and discover learning materials that will help you get ahead.
