We got a face lift - everything is shiny and new!

A lot has happened in the last few years and Studydrive has grown rapidly. We gained many, many new employees and users from all over the world, we implemented new features into the product, acquired new partners at our side, and founded a fresh office in Berlin! Now we want to show these great developments to the outside world. We’re striping off the old clothes and dressing ourselves in a new outfit that suits us and you perfectly. With the redesign, all pages of the platform and our apps have been updated. It is especially important to us that every single part of Studydrive follows a cohesive design language. From this, it will be much easier for you to find your way around and use both the website and app at the same time.

 

In addition to updating the entire platform, we spared no effort in updating our complete corporate design. We are proud of our young, talented, helpful, open community and corporate culture. And it's exactly these values that are important to us and make us what we are, that we would now like to share even more openly with you all: Drive, openness, friendliness, clarity and colourfulness. This can be seen in all the elements - from new fonts, shapes and colours, and even to the logo, which shines in new splendour.

 

New features

• Responsive layout: Studydrive is now more responsive and adapts automatically to all screen and device sizes. This guarantees that you can always enjoy the best possible operation, no matter how, where or with what you want to study. It’ll now also be very easy to use a split screen.

 

• More love for everyone - the new Like-Button is here!

  In the past there was a lot of discussion about our previous voting system. The opinions about what the downvote button expressed were very different. This led to confusion and frustrated especially the active students and uploaders. Does it represent a "No", "Does not belong here" or a "Rejection"? Truly a big confusion for everyone! In addition, the button was unfortunately misused by trolls more often. With the new like-system this should now become clearer - especially for the open, friendly and helpful community!

 

 

• More post features: Furthermore, we are already working on a thread feature. So, in the future you will not only be able to reply to posts but also to comments. This gives you more possibilities to react to posts and makes your discussions and exchanges amongst each other much clearer! It will also be possible to tag other users in posts and comments.

 

• Navigation: Our navigation will now only show up when you really need it. This makes the site tidier and your content more spacious and clearer.
  
  
• New profile: You can now easily share your web profile with other students, allowing your fellow students to have quick access to your shared documents. Soon you'll find all your learning materials, questions and answers at just a glance on your profile. In the future, you’ll simply be able to follow the links on our new overview pages for your posts, documents and flashcards, just like in the Apps!

 

 

• New search: We have revised our search. You can now find all courses and learning materials quickly and easily on one clearly arranged page! And this is just the beginning - we are already working on further improvements for the search.

 

• New document view: We have cleaned up the document page. The single document is now clearly in the foreground and you can concentrate on reading.

 

 

• New anonymous avatars: We know you love our anonymous avatars, and that's why we gave them a facelift: We redid all of them and even added some more. However, they still need to warm up a little bit, get their final finish and will be ready to meet you soon!

 

 

• Image posts: Images in posts are now displayed much more clearly. You can post up to five pictures at once in a comment.

 

Apps

 

We have also completely revised the apps. All our products now follow the same design. We have also adjusted important navigation points so you don't have to change from app to web anymore, and you’ll have a smooth product experience on both sides. Even the dark mode shines in new splendor. Your iPhone will automatically switch the app when you activate dark mode. If you are using Android, you can easily activate it in the settings in the Studydrive app.

 

Improved navigation: Your courses and groups are now clearer and easier to organize. Change the order of your courses and groups simply by dragging & dropping. If you don't need one of the two tabs, you can collapse it entirely, or you can use the new search function to go directly to your favourite course or group.

 

 

That's it for now. For the future, we promise you that we will never stop, that we will swim on the digital wave and that we will continue to improve Studydrive with your help. We hope you like what we put together!
