Asking for a friend: How does this study thing work?

Hundreds of questions are asked every day in the various Studydrive groups. Among those there are practical questions that are answered by the community, but also really wild questions that cause a lot of discussion in the comment section. We've picked out a few (including some spicy and questionable ones lol) that you shouldn't miss.
There's no such thing as stupid questions
-
Anonymous dinosaur: "Do you always hand in your assignments as a PDF file?"
Yeeees, please hand them in as PDFs! You don't want your term paper to be easily changed by someone else. Additionally, a PDF file is a universal format that is readable by most programs. For plagiarism checks, some universities require a DOCX file. So make sure to doublecheck with them! -
Anonymous Ferris Wheel: "I have 400 slides that I need to study, but I'm already scared... does anyone have any tips on how to memorise all that in a short time?"
One user has already answered this question well, saying: "Study only what is absolutely necessary and approach it with a positive mindset, if possible. This is really important psychologically and can sometimes help you more than hours of learning. :))” -
Anonymous Tomato: "Hello, did anyone here get pregnant during their studies? Did you drop out of your studies... or continue studying at home?"
The factual answer is: good news. Pregnancy during your studies should not put you at a disadvantage in the first place. Many universities and colleges offer support for pregnant women and mothers. As a pregnant student, you are also eligible for financial support in various forms. -
Anonymous Fart: "What are your experiences with the Cornell Method? Is it also good for lecture notes?"
For those who don't know: the Cornell Method is a technique for taking structured notes during meetings, seminars, lectures, etc. Our research showed that this method has often proven itself to be quite useful for lectures. So go for it. Find more tips and study methods on our TikTok channel. -
Anonymous package: "I constantly fall asleep in lectures even when I am interested in the topic or taking notes. Have the problem at work too (part-time job at cash register). I was preparing for tomorrow's lecture and dozed off while watching the video. Coffee, energy etc. don't help, I also exercise, eat healthily, and get enough sleep, so that's not it."
First of all: lol (sorry). Secondly: here, too, there has been good input from the community. Some suggested height-adjustable desks, a walk in fresh air or cold water on the neck or face. Someone suggested consulting a doctor to check whether all blood values are correct. We'll leave Anonymous Dinosaur's suggestion of attaching needles to shirt collars uncommented haha. -
Anonymous Petrol Pump: "Do you actually use ChatGPT for term papers?"
Here, most answered in the comments that they don't use it or just use it for research. Find out how to use ChatGPT for your studies: click here.
